UK Court denied Nirav Modi bail plea ‘fourth Time’

Npnews24 online: UK high court denied bail to Nirav Modi in a verdict delivered today. Nirav Modi bail plea was rejected twice before as he sought his extradition case in the PNB fraud and money laundering case amounting to up to Rs 13,700 crore.

After filing the fourth bail application, his counsel Clare Montgomery had pleaded before Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot at Westminster Magistrates Court, London, that white-collar crimes had low escape rate.

“Nirav Modi is no Julian Assange. He is just a jeweler from India,” Clare Montgomery, Modi’s counsel, told Dame Ingrid Ann Simler who was listening to his bail application at the Royal Courts of Justice on Tuesday.
