Two Separate Incidences of Molestation Against Women Shocked Pune City; Police Initiated Investigation Into Cases

Pune: An outrageous incident of molesting a woman by stripping one’s clothes and making obscene gestures by looking at her has taken place in the Yerawada area. In this regard, the aggrieved woman filed a complaint against the accused at Yerawada police station on Tuesday, April 2.

This shocking incident took place on April 1 at around 7 p.m. at Yashwant Nagar, Yerawada. According to the complaint, the plaintiff woman and her sister-in-law were talking with each other at the door of their houses on Monday.

At that time, the accused, Dhanraj Mahesh Thorat, age 27, a resident of Yashwant Nagar, Yerawada, came in front of their house in the evening and started abusing the plaintiff woman in a derogatory language.

Shockingly, after that, he removed his clothes and made obscene gestures, looking towards the victim woman, causing her embarrassment. The woman also mentioned that the accused had earlier attempted to molest her by chasing her on the streets.

Taking note of it, Yerawada police booked the accused under IPC 354 and 354 (a). Further investigation in this regard is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Shelke.

Furthermore, another shocking incident of molestation sent shockwaves to Pune as a 24-year-old woman was molested by one accused by chasing and making obscene gestures by looking at her. In this regard, a complaint was registered against the unknown accused at Warje Malwadi police station, and police are conducting further investigation into it.
