‘Tom and Jerry’ Director Jean Ditch Passes Away, Breathed His Last in Prague
According to news agency AP, Jean Ditch died on Thursday-Friday night in his apartment in Prague. He died suddenly and no further information has been received about this. Jean had previously created the Tom Terriff series, while he co-produced ‘Sidney’s Family Tree’. Both series were nominated for the 1958 Academy Award.
Jeanne Ditch was born on 8 August 1924 in Chicago. He reached Prague in 1959. He had come to spend only 10 days in Prague, but here he got his Future Wife. After falling in love with Judenko, Jean Ditch established his new home in Czechoslovakia.
After this John Ditch directed 13 episodes of Tom and Jerry. He also directed a few episodes of the Popeye the Sailor series. Jean decided to stay in Prague in 1989 after the anti-communist revolution in Czechoslovakia and Czech. In 2004, Jean was awarded the Winsor McCay Award for his incomparable contribution to animation.
