Terrorists Attack on Security Forces in Handwara, 3 Killed In Attack On Paramilitary Patrol
Srinagar : After 5 soldiers, including two officers, were martyred during a terrorist encounter on Saturday at Handwara in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, now today, 3 CRPF personnel have died in a terrorist attack on a convoy of security forces in Vangam of the same Kralgund area. A terrorist has also been killed in retaliation by security personnel.
Terrorists opened fire on the security forces near Vangam stop, where the joint security forces had made a barrier. Sources also said that some security personnel were injured in this attack, out of which three later succumbed to their wounds.
The encounter comes after a day after the death of five security personnel, including two army officers, in the same region in a face-off with terrorists that began on Saturday.
Sources said the terrorists targetted a CRPF patrol and launched heavy fire on them. The CRPF unit repulsed the attack and reinforcements from other security agencies havew reached the area.
“Encounter is underway. We have suffered some casualties,” said a CRPF officer.
