Tahir Hussain’s Bail Plea Dismissed, Charged with Inciting Violence & Murder

New Delhi : A Delhi court on Saturday dismissed the bail plea of suspended Aam Aadmi Party councilor Tahir Hussain in a case related to the north-east Delhi violence. Tahir Hussain was arrested in Delhi’s Chand Bagh violence case. Tahir Hussain is also accused of killing IB officer Ankit Sharma. Tahir Hussain was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. Case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

Slingshot was found on the roof –
Tahir Hussain is charged with inciting violence and murder. Stones, slingshot and petrol bombs were found on the roof of the house. A video also went viral in which the miscreants were pelting stones and petrol bombs down from the roof.

Tahir denied the allegations –
Tahir denied the allegations and described himself as innocent before the arrest. Tahir had said on the allegations leveled against him that ‘on February 24, I left with my family in the presence of top police officers. After that I had no relations with that building. The violence took place on the evening of 25 February.’

53 people had died in Delhi riots –
Significantly, after clashes between supporters and opponents of the citizenship law, communal riots broke out in North East Delhi’s Jaffarabad, Maujpur, Babarpur, Ghonda, Chandbagh, Shiv Vihar, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar areas on 24 February. Around 53 people were killed and more than 200 people were injured in the violence.
