Students can play major role in traffic management

In order to develop awareness about environment and traffic, the Pune city chief rode bicycle and visited Pune based campus. It was a different  experiences all together for the students of Pune based KJ educational institute when Dr K Venkatesham, Commissioner of Police, Pune rode a cycle in the institute campus recently.

Dr Venkatesham inaugurated ‘Go cycle rally’ which was organized to create awareness about environment by the institute. The rally was conducted from Khadi Machine chowk, Kondhwa  to KJ Campus at Bopdev Ghat.

Kalyan Jadhav, President, KJEI, Vinod Jadhav, Treasurer, KJEI, Dr. Hemant Abhyankar and Dr Vyasraj Kakhandaki, Executive Director, Dr Suhas Khot, Coordinator of Cycle Rally and Principle of KJ College of Engineering & management research, Dr Haribhau Fakatkar, Principal, Trinity College of Engineering & Technology, Dr Nilesh Uke, Trinity Academy of Engineering, Deepak Mehetre, HoD of Computer Science, Prof. Aparna Hambarde & Kartik Mullya were present on this occasion. Total 300 cyclist participated in this rally and gave ‘Clean Pune, Green Pune’ message.

While talking to students, Dr Venktesham said, “Traffic is major issue for a society. College students and youth can play a vital role to solve this issue through various activities. I appeal to all colleges and students to join with police and help to make the commuting safe for all.”

CP Dr K Venkteshan further mentioned, “College students should give some time for the society. National Service Scheme (NSS) wing can do constructive social work. Police department required help to maintain dignity and safety of all citizens. Every college and all students should come forward and help to create awareness and enforcement of law. Take first step towards environment and mankind.”

Kalyan Jadhav said that, Our campus is clean and green. We need to put efforts  to keep our city clean. We should use bicycle once in the week atleast though we can save our nature and also we will be physically fit. Dr Hemant Abhyankar also mentioned advantages of using cycle. Dr Suhas Khot gave the idea behind go cycle rally initiative. Prem Margaje compeered the session, while Prof Aparna Hambarde expressed vote of thanks.
