After Sairat’s blockbuster; Maharashtra becomes honor killing hub

The state of Maharashtra has seen the increasing graph of Honor Killing in resent past. Even after being said that Maharashtra is on the path of progress every day we hear the news of Honour killing. Earlier this week, an incident from Malegaon, an incident of honor killing came up and now another incident of the same has come up from Pandharpur.

Parents from Pandharpur has killed their own daughter in Pandharpur. The parents were unhappy with their daughter’s decision to marry the servant working in their farm. Thus, out of anger father killed her own daughter. The shocking incident took place in Salgar Budruk.

Father and mother killed their own daughter and also performed the last rituals. They tried to clear all the evidences after committing this.

Vitthal Dhondiba Birajdar and Shridevi Vitthal  Birajdar has been arrested by the police in this case who are the parents of the deceased.

The name of the deceased was Anuradha Vithhal Birajdar. She was 22 years old. She was studying B.A.M.S. The fact that she was well educated and yet took the decision to marry a servant was not accepted by the family.

The police informed, “ Anuradha was studying B.A.M.S. in Karnataka’s Sindgi. In the farms of Vithhal Birajdar a servant was appointed who went to Sindgi and married Anuradha. When Anuradha’s mom  and dad got to know that she has got married to the servant, they brought Anuradha home.

Unable to bear the fact and due to the fear of social humiliation, Parents of Anuradha,  killed her on Friday morning on October 5 . Later, they also performed the last rituals in the farm secretively. They burnt the body in the farm and tried to dispose it off.

Before the incident,  Anuradha wrote 2 suicide notes, which read, she was being threatened by her own parents.

Shridevi Vitthal  Birajdar was her step mother. She also wrote that her father was mentally harassing her. “They are planning to murder me and if anything happens to me then these two shall be held responsible.” Such was written in her suicide note.

Police arrested her parents after getting the suicide note. Police are investigating in this case further.
