Stock market opens marginally higher; Sensex up 37 points; Nifty crosses 15100

New Delhi : Today, on the last trading day of the week, the stock market opened with a slight hike. Today, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex gained 37.13 points (0.07 per cent) to open at the level of 51,568.65. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened with a gain of 12 points, i.e. 0.08 per cent, at 15,185.30. Today 787 stocks gained and 291 stocks declined. At the same time, there was no change in 67 shares.

If we talk about the big stocks, during the initial trading today, shares of Power Grid, HCL Tech, Infosys, Wipro and Adani Ports opened on the green mark. At the same time, shares of ITC, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, Coal India and Maruti opened on the red mark.

Monitoring of sectoral index
If we look at the sectoral index, today, apart from FMCG, metal and auto, all sectors started at the edge. These include Media, PSU Bank, Realty, Bank, Pharma, Finance Services, IT and Private Banks.

The Sensex was down 41.14 points (0.08 per cent) at 51,490.38 level during the Pre Open at 9.02 am. The Nifty was down 2.70 points (0.02 per cent) at 15,170.60.

The Sensex opened 143.55 points (0.28 per cent) down at the level of 51165.84 on the previous trading day. At the same time, the Nifty opened at 15073.25, down 33.25 points, or 0.22 per cent.

On Thursday, the domestic stock market closed on the green mark after day-long fluctuations. The Sensex had closed at 51531.52, up 222.13 points (0.43 per cent). The Nifty closed at 15173.30 with a gain of 66.80 points, or 0.44 per cent.
