Srilanka Imposed ban on Burqa insuring protection post-serial bomb blast

Npnews 24 Colombo : After a series of bombing on Easter Sunday that killed more than 250 people and wounded at least 500 in Lankan churches and hotels. President Maithripala Sirisena took the decision to ban the ‘Burqas’ a security risk and flag of fundamentalism. This move will further support ongoing security concern in the country. Ban goes into effect from Monday.

Police source think National Tawheed Jamath, a local extremist group, may looks behind the attack but
ISIS claimed the responsibility. Burqas seems to be a garment which covers entire body, and it will be
the serious concern for security purpose. Adding to that one Sri Lankan hotel reportedly has banned
facial coverings after the attacks.
