Sharad Pawar meets Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss land acquisition of Purandar Airport

Mumbai – Nationalist Congress President and MP Sharad Pawar is currently in Delhi to meet Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh regarding the acquisition of land for Purandar airport. Later while talking to the reporters he mentioned that he would not comment on the farmers’ movement. Talking about the viral letter written when he was the Agriculture Minister, Pawar told the reporters that the letter only talks about APMC and that the opposition should read it carefully.

Sharad Pawar tweeted about his meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh which lasted half an hour saying, “The Maharashtra government has proposed to set up a new airport at Purandar due to the increasing air traffic congestion at the Pune International Airport. I met Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to expedite the work on the proposed airport”. Therefore, land acquisition for the airport at Purandar is expected to begin soon. Meanwhile, after this meeting, Sharad Pawar, while answering the question of the journalists, slammed the opposition.

Speaking to reporters, Pawar said, “Opposition should read the letter carefully”. Pawar was very angry at the journalists who repeatedly asked questions on the letter. He said he would not comment on the agriculture law unless it was discussed. However, some journalists kept asking him questions on the letter, the farmers’ movement. Pawar said angrily, “I was not happy to see you all standing outside, so I called you.” Even after answering the question once, you are wasting my time by asking me the same question over and over again. I made a mistake by calling you. “I will not call you again,” Pawar said.

“My letter mentions that the APMC market should be amended. But, there is no mention of APMC in the Centre’s Agriculture laws. Hence the opposition is trying to discredit us by using my name”, said Pawar.
