The former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had told to Sharad Pawar for going to the foreign country, for study sessions. WhenNationalist Congress Party’s Chief Sharad Pawar was in Congress party. Indira Gandhi had formed a special committee. Sharad Pawar needed an urgent passport as he was the part of that committee. Even Sharad Pawar did application at the passport office for the same. But Sharad Pawar had waited for two months due to the Police verification procedure, as per the information was given by foreign secretory Dnyaneshwar Mule at Sir Parashurambhau (SP) College, Pune.

Dnyaneshwar Mule inaugurated the scheme of giving passports to college students through the project of ‘Mati, Pankh and Akash’ (Soil, Wings, and Sky) by the Navbharat Nirmiti and Sankalp Siddhi jointly.

This scheme started in the SP College. The program was held at Ramabai Hall of the College. The president of Shikshan Prasarak Mandal -S.K.Jain, Savitribai Phule Pune University’s Vice-Chancellor Nitin Karmalkar, BJP City President Yogesh Gogawale, and others dignitaries were present.

While speaking about the passport, Dnyaneshwar Mule said, “Only 8 crore people have a passport in India, out of 125 crore people. There is a strong need of working, for increasing the passport number in the country. Every year 1 crore, 10 lakh passports are being distributed by the Passport Department. And departments work on 60,000 passports. As long as you do not get out of the country, our narrow-minded thinking will not end. The students also need the passport to make their progress.”

Passport is not only used to go abroad, but it helps in understanding the culture, social and political situation of different countries. A passport is an important tool to help and discover the new fields of knowledge. Passport is important for bringing out with useful things from outside the country, as said by Vice Chancellor Savitribai Phule Pune University’s, Nitin Karmalkar.
