Seven booked for demanding a ransom of Rs 25 lakh from govt contractor in Pimpri Chinchwad

A case has been registered against seven people at the Hinjewadi police station. The incident happened during December 2, 2022 and January 10, 2023 at Lakshmi Chowk, Hinjewadi and in front of the Bhosari PMT office.

 

A case has been registered against Ashok Sangle, Rudra Chate and their five accomplices at the Hinjewadi Police Station under sections 384, 385, 341, 427, 506, 143, 147, 148, 149 of the IPC and the Maharashtra Police Act, the Arms Act. A 34-year-old government contractor lodged a complaint on Tuesday.

 

According to the police, the complainant is a government contractor. Out of the anger of suspension from work and not being paid by the complainant, Ashok Sangle extorted Rs 5 lakh by threatening to make obscene photos and videos viral. The accused then demanded another Rs 25 lakh. Sangle issued death threats if the money was not paid. It is mentioned in the complaint that Rudra Chate and his five other companions stopped his car at the PMT office in Bhosari and attacked him with an iron sickle.

 

Police are conducting further investigation.
