Scientist Warns, Coronavirus more harmful in AC Bus Travel

New Delhi: The corona virus infection spreads rapidly from the air conditioning unit in the bus. Scientists studied a case in China in which it was found that about two dozen people got corona infected through traveling in a bus.

According to the study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, scientists from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Zhejiang Province of China found out that 18 out of 24 passengers who got infected in the bus became ill, while 6 people had mild symptoms.

According to scientists, there were positive reports of 24 people traveling in a bus in Xinjiang province of China. Scientists have said that the study proves that AC infection can spread much more in a closed area.These people had traveled for just one and a half hours in the bus. Scientists believe that the infection spread rapidly due to the AC on the bus. Scientists have said that the study proves that AC infection can spread much more in a closed area.

While some air conditioners draw air from outside, in most AC, the air inside is recycled repeatedly. Due to the AC installed in this bus, the air inside was being recycled. Scientists believe that because of this the air droplets spread the virus  in the bus.

According to the Daily Mail report, this case study is about the incident in January. The passengers on the bus were not following social distancing, but it is believed that they were wearing masks. The study showed that the person sitting right in front of them is more at risk.
