Saudi Crown Prince Accused of hacking Amazon chief Jeff Bezos’ phone, reports reveal

NP NEWS 24 : New Delhi : The world’s richest man and head of Amazon Jeff Bezos’ phone was hacked after opening a message sent by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The British newspaper ‘The Guardian’ has published a report citing unnamed sources.

The newspaper wrote that a digital forensic analysis suggested that start of data theft in 2018 from Amazon’s chief’s phone began with a video file containing a virus sent by Mohammed bin Salman’s personal WhatsApp.

The Guardian wrote in its report that it does not yet known what data was extracted from the phone, but the report comes nearly a year after Bezos and his wife Mackenzie’s surprise announcement of divorce. Bezos divorced his wife MacKenzie after 25 years of marriage.

The American newspaper ‘National Enquirer’ revealed an extramarital affair between Jeff Bezos and former television anchor Lauren Sánchez. The newspaper said in its series of reports that Bezos had also sent a lot of unusual messages to Lauren.

Bezos ‘security adviser, Gavin de Becker, said that the ‘National Enquirer’ had a business relationship with the Saudis, as well as coverage of the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi, a vocal critic of Saudi rule by the Bezos-owned ‘Washington Post’ newspaper, which could be the reason that the Saudi Prince has had his phone hacked to tarnish the image of Amazon’s founder.

He said that the Washington Post had published the news last year in which the newspaper had written that the US intelligence agency CIA had connected the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s link with Jamal Khashoggi’s assassination in 2018. At the moment, it is unclear whether any sensitive Amazon corporate information has been acquired by hacking Bezos’ phone.
