Rekha Jare murder: Prime suspect Bal Bothe was hiding in Hyderabad for 82 days, says District Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil

Ahmednagar: According to the new development in the murder of Rekha Jare, president of Yashwini Mahila Brigade, prime suspect Journalist-Advocate Bal Bothe was hiding in Hyderabad from the last 82 days.

Absconding journalist and advocate Bal J Bothe, the mastermind and prime suspect in Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) activist Rekha Jare murder case was arrested by Crime Branch of Ahmednagar Police from Hyderabad, District Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil said in a press conference.

Patil said, “the hotel room where Bothe was hiding was locked from outside. Adv Janardhan Chandrappa of Osmania University in Hyderabad had given him shelter and helped him in staying underground, while Mahesh Vasantrao Tanpure from Ahmednagar was in constant touch with Bothe”.

The police carried out a search operation for five days in Bilalnagar in Hyderabad and caught Bal Bothe with the help of Mumbai police and Hyderabad police, Patil added. He will be produced in Parner Court after being brought to town.

Jarnadan Akula Chandrappa, resident of Saromanagar in Hyderabad, Telangana, P. Anantalakshmi Venkatam Subbachari, resident of Hyderabad, Telangana, Rajshekhar Anjay Chakali, resident of Mustabad, Telangana, Sheikh Ismail Sheikh Ali, resident of Rangareddy, Telangana, Abdul Rahman Abdul Arif, resident of Rangareddy, Telangana had helped Bothe in Hyderabad.

Rekha Bhausaheb Jare (39) was also the President of Yashaswini Mahila Brigade, was murdered by two motorcycle-borne persons in Ahmednagar district on November 30 at around 8.20 pm on the Pune-Nagar Highway. Jare was travelling from Pune to Ahmednagar in a car along with her mother, son and a friend when the incident happened. Investigations conducted by Nagar police revealed that senior journalist Bothe was the mastermind and paid blood money to other suspects to execute her.
