Registration made mandatory for adventure tourism under ATAP

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –   Regulations have been issued for organisers of adventure tourism activities in the state. Accordingly, ‘Adventure Tourism Activities Policy’ (ATAP) has been implemented to create a well-planned system for safe adventure tourism in the state. This policy will be applicable to all adventure tourism activities on land, air and water which are being organised now and will be started in the future.

 

It has been found that some adventure tourism centre operators in the district are carrying out activities such as Zipline, Trekking, Water Sports, etc, without registration. According to the government decision of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs on 24 August 2021, the Adventure Tourism Activities Policy has been implemented in the state. According to this, organisations conducting adventure tourism activities should register immediately. Henceforth, legal action will be taken if it is found that unregistered activities are being run, said Assistant Director of the Divisional Tourism Office Supriya Karmarkar-Datar.
