Rally for sexually abused in Pimpri Chinchwad “Justice for Hinjewadi’s Nirbhaya”

Two fortnights later after the incident of two 12-year-old victims who were sexually abused, a huge rally is to be organized in Pimpri Chinchwad area to protest against it. Out of the two victims, one died while undergoing treatment after being sexually abused by the four suspects including the juveniles in Pune’s Hinjewadi area.

In order to condemn the incident, the citizens on Thursday evening are organizing a rally demanding the case to be tried on speedy trial bases, hang to death such culprits and Rs 25 lakh compensation to be given to victim’s family.

On September 19, two minor girls complained pains in their private parts as well they were weak. Based on which the parents rushed them to Pune based Sassoon General hospital and during treatment one of the victims died. The doctors in the hospital had alerted the police and accordingly such a shocking case had come to light.  After which the Hinjewadi police station which falls under the Pimpri Chinchwad commissionerate registered

The incident had taken place some 10 km from Hinjewadi On September 16 afternoon between 3:30 and 4 pm. the girls, who were playing on the premises of the Sant Tukaram Maharaj temple, were lured by the by giving them chocolates. The minors were then taken to a secluded area behind the temple where they were sexually abused and gang raped. In this regard, the police arrested four youth including the minor. Ganesh Nikam (22) and three others including a minor boy. All are been slapped under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code comprises of  376 D (rape of a woman by one or more persons) 366 A (procuration of minor girl) and the Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012.

Victim’s parent said, “we are poor, we do not know the law and do not know who much law will support us. We being a labor and from Beed, we came to the city to earn bread and butter and give our children the better education. My daughter was in class sixth and was the good student.”

In the meantime, Member of Parliament Supriya Sule and Maharashtra state Guardian Minister as well women and child minister Pankaja Munde also met the family and also interacted police appealing personally look into such heinous act done by the four youth.

Balashaheb Sanap Maharashtra State president Jai Bhagwan Mahasangh said, “The act is heinous and such is cool-blooded manner they committed the crime and later the victim died while other is in trauma. To condemn the act and in future no one such commit the crime we demand that such trial need to take on speedy trial and such victim family the government needs to pay compensation of Rs 25 lakh. While the other girl who is in trauma need to given good medical treatment along with her education expenses must be bear by the government. We have started a campaign on #justiceforhinjawadinirbhaya.”

He added, “on Thursday 6 pm that is today we will be holding candlelight march which will begin from Dr. Babashaheb Ambedkar statue in Pimpri Chinchwad area and later from Bhatnagar and at Pawana river ghat we will be sharing our grievances and look forward to huge people number and our demand for justice to be fulfilled.”
