Rajkot COVID19 Hospital Fire: Supreme Court asks for report by December 1

Rajkot: Five patients died in a sudden fire at Uday Sivananda Covid-19 Hospital in Anand Bangla Chowk area of Rajkot late last night. The Supreme Court has taken note of the matter and asked the Gujarat government to submit a report by December 1.

The Supreme Court has given a clear order to Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to take stern action against anyone responsible for it.

The Supreme Court has said that this is a very serious matter, we should go to the root of the incident and find out the truth so that we can avoid such a tragedy in the future.

Around 33 patients were undergoing treatment at Uday Sivananda Covid Hospital at Anand Bangla Chowk in Rajkot. According to the fire brigade, the fire call came at 12.30 am. The machinery on the second floor of the hospital is believed to have caught fire from the shot circuit. Uday Shivananda Hospital was sanctioned as Covid Hospital in September.
