Raja Singh Lodh: The lone worrier of BJP from Telangana Election

HYDERABAD: NEWS 24 ONLINE – Raja Singh Lodh has emerged as lone worrier for the BJP in the Assembly of Telangana polls. As everyone else got beaten and BJP ended up with only 1 seat in Telangana. The results were declared December 11 and the election took place on December 7

Mr Singh is quite popular in the courts of Telangana as he has more than 60 cases on him for his inflammatory comments and spreading hatred among the society.  He managed to continue his win strike Goshamahal Assembly constituency in Hyderabad.

Raja won with 17,734 votes against Prem Singh Rathore of the TRS, thereby becoming a two-time MLA. Mukesh Goud who contested on a Congress ticket got 26,322 votes. However, the margin of the Raja Singh, known for his communally divisive statements, dropped significantly. In the 2014 elections, Singh won with a margin of 46,793 against Goud.

Some are also saying that he was benefited with the campaigning done by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

BJP’s Telangana state unit President K Laxman and floor leader in the dissolved Assembly Kishan Reddy lost in Musheerabad and Amberpet segments respectively.

Out of 119 Assembly segments BJP contested for 118 seats, giving one seat to its alliance Yuva Telangana party.

BJP indeed took the Telangana elections very seriously as they did every possible thing to win the election. Yogi companied for Singh which turned out to be a good decision as if that would not have happened BJP might have ended on winning zero seats. Even Prime Minister Modi was keeping focusing on the elections.

In 2014 when BJP contested assembly elections with ally TDP it had 5 MLA and now they have been reduced to just one seat.

In a statement, Laxman said that the BJP accepted the people’s verdict and that the Narendra Modi government would extend all help and cooperation to Telangana for its development.
