Rain hit Farmers will get compensation before Diwali

Mumbai: The state government has sent a letter to the election officials to ensure that the election code of conduct does not hinder the farmers. Permission will be granted soon. Therefore, from next week, farmers affected by heavy rains will start getting compensation, said Vijay Vadettiwar, Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation.

The state’s code of conduct for teacher and graduate constituency elections for the Legislative Council was hampered in providing assistance to farmers. However, the state government has sent a letter to election officials today.

They will be allowed to distribute help till tomorrow. Therefore, from Monday, the money will start flowing into the accounts of the affected farmers through the district collector. The heavy rains have already caused huge losses to farmers. It now needs immediate help to farmers for sowing rabi crops. Earlier also, aid was distributed to farmers during the election code of conduct. Therefore, there will be no hindrance in distributing compensation to the farmers from Monday, said Vadettivar.

Accusing the BJP of playing politics on the issue of opening temples in the state, Vadettivar said the decision on temples would be taken only after Diwali.
