Railways Sold 54000 Tickets in Approx Three Hours, Special Trains will Run From Today

New Delhi : Railways will start operating special trains from Tuesday. Ticket booking for these trains has started from 6 pm on Monday. It has been informed by the railways that till 9:30 PM, about 30 thousand PNRs have been generated and tickets have been issued to more than 54 thousand passengers.

Rail passenger services were canceled for nearly 50 days due to the lockdown. The Railways said that only five trains coming to Delhi on Tuesday will depart from Patna, Bengaluru, Howrah, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Their fare will be same as Rajdhani train fare. Northern Railway said in a statement that only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the New Delhi railway station from Paharganj. No passenger will be allowed to enter from Ajmeri Gate.

Officials said that as per the guidelines, the e-ticket issued by IRCTC will serve as an e-pass for movement of vehicles to and from the station. He said that all passengers arriving at the Delhi railway station would have to follow the health regulations of the government. At present, the Railways has released the time table for trains running between 12 May to 20 May. These special trains will have only air-conditioned class (AC-1, AC-2 and AC-3) coaches, the fare will be as per the normal Rajdhani train. No trains will run on 16 and 19 May.

Must Reach Station at least One & a Half Hours Before
Indian Railways has introduced new guidelines regarding trains starting from May 12, starting air-conditioned passenger train services on selected routes, including arriving at the railway station at least one and a half hours earlier so that your health check-up can be done. From Tuesday, May 12, the Railways will not provide sheets, towels, food, drinks, etc. to passengers boarding trains. At present, only canned food and hand sanitizer will be provided to the passengers.

Indian Railways says that it will be mandatory for all passengers to wear masks. Indian Railways will run 15 pairs of trains on select routes (30 trains including up-and-down) on select routes from tomorrow, after the COVID-19 lockdown has stopped passenger services for nearly 50 days and these special trains will have only air-conditioned class (AC-1 , AC-2 and AC-3) coaches, the fare will be as per the normal Rajdhani train.
