Rahul Gandhi again targets Centre over Pulwama attack

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday blasted Narendra Modi government for not acting on actionable inputs by the intelligence department on Pulwama terror attack.

“On February 14, 2019, the PM was busy shooting a film having ignored prior intelligence inputs and leaving our jawans to die in Pulwama. Why were actionable intelligence inputs ignored,” Gandhi questioned in a tweet. Gandhi shared an article posted by media firm ‘Frontline’ which reads “Pulwama terror attack happened despite two successive actionable inputs”.

February 14 marked two years since the day 40 CRPF officials were killed in an attack in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Various public personalities on Twitter, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tweeted in commemoration of the day, praising the sacrifice of the soldiers.

Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammed claimed responsibility for the Pulwama terror attack after repeated denials from Pakistan. The explosives used in the attack were found to be ammonium nitrate, nitroglycerin and RDX after a forensic investigation. The investigation also confirmed the identity of the suicide bomber, 22-year-old Adil Ahmad Dar, through DNA matching with that of his father.
