Pune: Young Man Faces Police Heat in Molestation of 18-Year-Old Girl Case

Pune: In Hadapsar, there was a startling instance of an 18-year-old girl being harassed by calling on her cell phone incessantly, being stopped, and being mistreated in the middle of the road. In this regard, a complaint was lodged at Hadapsar police station against a young man.

The accused person is identified as Sagar Gaikwad. Gaikwad is a resident of the Sadesatra Nali area of Hadapsar. As per the complaint, the accused was repeatedly calling the accused on her personal phone and harassing her. He also asked the girl to come with him.

The girl did not like his behaviour and stopped answering him. After this, the accused started chasing her on her way to college and coaching class. On Wednesday, when the girl was returning to her home late at night, the accused stopped her in the road and misbehaved with her. He attempted to molest a girl, causing her embarrassment.

After this, the girl registered a complaint against the accused at Hadapsar police station. Accordingly, police booked the accused under 354, 354(a)(d), and 323 sections of the IPC and launched investigations into the case. Police Sub-Inspector Digambar Sontakke is conducting further investigation into the case.

Verbal Abuse to Woman in Wagholi

A woman was abused and threatened for asking about the reason for feeding food to stray and open dogs in society. This incident took place in a society in Wagholi on February 12 at around eight in the morning.

A 44-year-old woman asked a person from her society a reason for bringing stray dogs into the society and feeding them, fearing their frequent arrival in the society and the possibility of theirs biting one of the residents. Enraged by this, the accused abused the woman and threatened her.

In this regard, Lonikand police filed a complaint against the accused, Ian Maude, 47, under IPC 509, 352, and 504.
