Pune: Wakad Police Apprehend Man Carrying Unlicensed Firearm; Seize Pistol and Live Cartridge Worth Rs 25 Thousand

Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad police have started taking stern measures against soaring criminal activities within the police station limits. In the latest such incident, Wakad police have handcuffed a young man for illegally carrying a pistol without a license. This operation was done on Saturday, March 9, around 12.15 p.m. at Kaspate Chowk, Wakad.

The arrested individual is identified as Ganesh Bhunga Kamble. Kamble, 21, is a resident of Bhatnagar, Pimpri, and was apprehended by Wakad police on the basis of a complaint filed by Assistant Police Inspector Rajendra Bapurao Kale for illegally carrying a pistol.

On the night of March 9, the investigation team of Wakad police received information that a young man was carrying a pistol near the partially constructed bridge at Kaspate Chowk, Wakad. Accordingly, the police laid a trap and detained the accused, Ganesh Kamble, on the spot.

When he was patted down after the detention, police found a pistol and one live cartridge worth Rs 25,300 with him. During the subsequent investigation, police seized all these materials and arrested him under the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Chavan.
