Pune Police Nabs Two Individuals in Two Separate Women Molestation Cases

Pune: Recently, Pune Police made a swift arrest of two individuals under the charge of molestations of women and for forcefully trying to establish contact with them. In the first incident, one person was detained by Sinhagad Police for attempting to molest a minor girl by repeatedly chasing and threatening her with suicide to coerce her into a relationship.

As per the complaint, the accused, Omkar Ravi Shinde, 20, a resident of Manajinagar, Vadgaon, repeatedly chased the victim and harassed her by saying he loved her. Furthermore, he also threatened to commit suicide if she was not married to him.

In this regard, the Sinhagad Road police detained the accused on Sunday on the basis of a complaint filed by a 17-year-old victim girl. The accused has been booked and arrested under IPC 354 d, 506, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Meanwhile, police are conducting further investigation into the case.

In a separate incident, a 34-year-old married woman was harassed by one accused by repeatedly sending obscene messages on WhatsApp. Furthermore, he also molested a woman by outraging her modesty and causing her embarrassment in public places.

In this regard, a complaint was filed by the victim woman against the accused, Prakash Kadam, at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. Kadam, an original resident of Ambegaon Budruk, was subsequently detained by police under IPC 354(a)(d). This incident took place on March 7 and 8 at Ambegaon Budruk. The police are conducting further investigation in this case.
