Pune: Violent Vandalism Erupts in Warje Malwadi! Syndicate Damages Car and Pelt Stones Over Previous Enmity

Pune: A group of eight to ten individuals unleashed chaos in the Ekta Society at Ramnagar, Warje Malwadi, targeting the car of a local resident, Saurabh Gyanoba Chowdhury. The incident occurred on Monday night around eleven o’clock and has led to the Warje Malwadi police registering a case against ten individuals involved in the violent act.

Saurabh Gyanoba Chowdhury, a 24-year-old resident of Ekta Society, filed a complaint at the Warje Police Station, citing a clash that ensued after a programme organised by him to mark the consecration of the Ram idol in the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The case has been registered against all the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Criminal Law Amendment Act, including 323, 504, 506, 143, 147, 149, 336, 427, and 34.

According to the police report, Saurabh and one of the accused, Vaibhav Gawadi, were friends. Saurabh had organised the programme on Monday and invited Vaibhav Gawadi to attend. However, a dispute arose during the event when Vaibhav, accompanied by his associates, assaulted Saurabh’s friend, Niranjan Mali, seemingly without provocation. The situation escalated, with verbal abuse directed at Saurabh Chaudhary.

Attempting to mediate, Saurabh, along with his friend Abhishek Dongardive, stepped in to resolve the conflict. Vaibhav Gawadi, feeling aggrieved that Saurabh had intervened, reportedly threatened him, warning him not to interfere in their dispute.

The situation took a violent turn later in the night when, around eleven o’clock, the enraged group vandalised the four-wheeler parked in front of Saurabh’s residence and engaged in stone-pelting, causing panic in the area. The motive behind the attack appears to be rooted in the gang’s anger over Saurabh’s mediation in the earlier dispute.

Assistant Police Inspector Shinde is leading additional investigations into the matter, seeking to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in the violent act.
