Pune: Two People Arrested for Assault in Hadapsar Over Water Leakage Dispute

Pune: A dispute over water leakage in Parijat Colony, Hadapsar, escalated into violence, leaving a youth and his parents injured. The incident unfolded on February 3, at around 9 a.m., shaking the tranquilly of the residential area. Hadapsar police swiftly responded to the distress call and apprehended two brothers allegedly responsible for the brutal assault.

The genesis of the altercation lies in the water leakage issue plaguing the accused’s flat. Swapnil Dnyaneshwar More, a resident of Parijat Apartment, Aakashwani, Hadapsar, lodged a formal complaint with the Hadapsar Police Station, recounting the harrowing ordeal his family endured. Identified as Omkar Dilip Salunke (33 years old) and Kedar Dilip Salunke (33 years old), the accused brothers faced charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 324, 452, 341, 352, 323, 506, and 34.

According to the police statement, the accused and the complainant resided in the same apartment complex. Allegedly, the accused barged into More’s residence in response to the water leakage issue and resorted to verbal abuse. Matters quickly escalated as the confrontation turned physical, with the accused brandishing a brick and assaulting More. When More’s wife and parents intervened to defuse the escalating conflict, they too fell victim to the assailants’ fury, suffering injuries in the process.

As More sought refuge in filing a police complaint, the accused, Kedar Salunke, reportedly seized the keys to More’s vehicle, leading to a scuffle with More’s father. Fuelled by rage, the assailants unleashed further violence, with Kedar Salunke allegedly running over More’s wife with a vehicle while menacingly threatening to eliminate More’s son. In a chilling turn of events, the accused purportedly issued death threats to More’s mother.

The Hadapsar police officers are presently engaged in a thorough investigation into the case.
