Pune Traffic Updates | Chronic Traffic Jams Plague Pune’s Pashan Sus Road, Residents Demand Action

Pune: Pune Traffic Updates |  A video capturing a severe traffic jam on the Pashan Sus road in Pune has taken social media by storm. The viral video, dated Monday, 24th, shows thousands of vehicles stranded for almost an hour due to illegal parking and other traffic-related issues. The incident has highlighted the pressing need for effective measures to address the recurring problem of traffic congestion in the area.

Pashan Sus road has been grappling with traffic jams, especially during the rainy season. Citizens have expressed frustration, citing the deteriorating condition of the roads and the apparent lack of interest from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in repairing them. While the traffic police occasionally intervene to manage the situation, residents assert that a more comprehensive solution is urgently required, including widening the road to accommodate the increasing traffic flow.

“On the morning of July 24, traffic came to a grinding halt for over 2 to 3 kilometers on the Pashan-Sus road due to illegal parking and heavy vehicles obstructing the thoroughfare,” stated Sachin Kadam, Assistant Police Inspector of Bavdhan Traffic Department. He assured that immediate action was taken to clear the congestion and traffic wardens have been appointed to ensure smoother traffic flow daily.

However, for the citizens who were caught in the relentless traffic snarl, the experience remains a reminder of the pressing need for long-term solutions to prevent such disruptions in the future. The community is urging the Pune Municipal Corporation to take prompt action to repair the road and address the recurring traffic issues, which have become a regular ordeal for commuters.

As residents continue to voice their concerns and seek accountability from the authorities, the Pashan Sus road predicament serves as a cautionary tale about the broader challenges posed by rapid urbanization and increasing vehicular traffic in the city.
