Pune: Spa Centre Raided! Crime Branch Uncovers Illegal Prostitution Operation in Koregaon Park

Pune: The crime branch police of the social security department busted an illegal prostitution racket from Koregaon Park Area on Tuesday, April 2. According to the police, the accused was running this illegal prostitution racket under the guise of a spa centre.

In this action, police registered a case against the spa owner and manager and rescued a total of six girls, including four Thai girls. This action was taken by the crime branch police of the social security department on Tuesday, April 2, at 6.30 p.m. in the Koregaon Park area.

According to the police report, Koregaon Park Police received a tip-off regarding the running of an illegal prostitution centre in the spa centre on the second floor of the Jewel Square building in the Koregaon Park area. Accordingly, the police team confirmed the authenticity of the news by sending its own officials to the spa centre, posing them as customers.

When police officials validated the authenticity of the news, a social security department team of crime branch police raided the location and took the accused spa owner, Surendra Jagannath Patil, a resident of Sukhwani Royal Society, Vimannagar, and manager Shah Rukh Ahmad Chaudhary, currently residing in Kondhwa and an original resident of Assam, into custody.

In the subsequent police action, police took significant action against both accused under IPC 370, 34 of the Prevention of Immoral Traffic in Persons Act. During the investigation, police learned that the accused were illicitly running this prostitution racket, and they were forcing the woman to do this work, luring them with the promise of huge money.

The police immediately rescued six women, including four Thai citizens, from the scene who were forcibly working there. In this operation, the police also seized 45 thousand rupees. Koregaon Park Police is conducting further investigation into the case.
