Pune: A young 5-year-old girl set a new record of identifying and naming 150 countries of the world with their capitals by their flags in just 4 minutes and 17 seconds. Presha Khemani, a student at Sanskriti School, Bhukum Campus, Pune, marked her name in this prestigious World Record India book on October 17.

Her father, Bharat Khemani is a CA by profession and her mother, Sangeeta Khemani, who is an MSc in Maths and MBA, prepared her during the pandemic. Bharat Khemani said, “We are really proud of our daughter. We are blessed to have such a talented and smart daughter. I remember, even during her pre-school year, she won five medals and 2 trophies in sports, storytelling competitions. She’s an all-rounder in that sense”.

Her mother Sangeeta said, “Presha took 7 weeks to learn all the flags, countries, and its capital. We covered one continent in one week. This way we completed all the seven continents in seven weeks.”

Bharat Khemani, who is originally from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, appreciated Sanskriti school for its support saying, “I wanted my kid to go through 360-degree development. And Sanskriti School has been encouraging and co-operative towards extra-curricular along with academics. I want to thanks the management, Principal Neha Teredesai, teachers, and the Founder-Director Ms. Devyani Mungali.

He said, “When the principal asked Presha ‘Now what next?’, her reply really surprised us. She said she wants to learn about currency, language and Prime Minister of every country”

Bharat Khemani said that they have applied in Guinness World Record, Global Books, and World Record-UK and that they are awaiting their response.
