Pune police Crime Branch | Pune police Crime Branch arrests youth for illegally possessing pistol, pistol seized

PUNE : Pune police Crime Branch | A team of unit 1 of Pune Police Crime Branch has arrested a youth from Budhwar Peth for illegally possessing a pistol and a country made pistol has been seized from him. An FIR has been registered at the Faraskhana police station under the Arms Act.

 

The accused has been identified as Omkar Ramprakash Ambhure (21), a resident of Dhayarigaon. Ambhure is a criminal on police record. On Saturday, during the all out operation, checking of criminals was going on.

 

 

When officials of unit 1 of the Crime Branch were carrying out the operation in the limits of Faraskhana police station, policemen Datta Sonawane got the information that the accused Ambhure was going to visit the red light area and he possessed a pistol. The information was verified and Ambhure was arrested after laying a trap. When he was searched, a country made pistol worth ₹60,000 was found on him. The police seized the pistol and an FIR was registered against him at the Faraskhana police station.

 

CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, ACP Sunil Tambe guided Sr PI Shabbir Sayyad, API Ashish Kavathekar, PSI Sunil Kulkarni, PSI Ajay Jadhav, policemen Datta Sonawane, Rahul Makhre, Amol Pawar, Shashikant Darekar, Vitthal Salunkhe, Mahesh Bamgude and Abhinav Ladkat in taking the action.
