Pune News | Voter Registration Campaign in Housing Societies in Parvati & Shivajinagar Vidhan Sabha Constituency on Saturday & Sunday
Pune: Pune News | A special voter registration campaign will be conducted on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July in all housing societies in the jurisdiction of 212 Parvati Vidhan Sabha Constituencies and 209 Shivajinagar Vidhan Sabha Constituencies under the special brief revision program of voters lists.
The Election Commission of India has announced a special summary program of electoral rolls on the qualifying date of 1 January 2024. Under that, the polling center level officials of the constituency will conduct house-to-house visits to the housing societies for verification.
As per the campaign the names of voters whose names are not included in the voter list will be filled in sample number 6, sample number 7 will be filled to remove the names of permanently migrated and deceased voters from the voter list while sample number 8 will be filled to correct errors in the voter list or voter ID card.
The documents required for the voters registration are first the applicant age should be completed 18 years on the eligibility date to fill Form No.6. The proof of residence requires either an Aadhaar Card, driving license, Indian Passport or a xerox copy of the first page of a nationalized bank while for the proof of age one have to either have of Aadhaar Card, driving license, Indian Passport, School Leaving Certificate or PAN Card. Also one recent color passport size photograph with white background, registered tenancy agreement is required if the elector is a tenant.
For sample number 7 regarding deletion of name from voter list- death certificate in case of deceased voter, proof of same is required for women who got married and in-laws and settled permanently in other constituencies.
In respect of corrections in the Electoral Roll, for Form No. 8 Aadhar Card, driving licence, Indian Passport, xerox copy of the first page of nationalized bank one of the documents mentioning the change, while in case of change of residence within the same constituency for filling Form No. 8A Aadhar Card, driving licence, Indian Passport, xerox copy of the first page of Nationalized Bank is required.
New voters who want to register online should register their new name using Voter Service Portal and Voter Helpline App at https://voters.eci.gov.in. The voter registration officers of both constituencies have also appealed that the citizens should participate in this special revision program and the new voters should register.
