Pune News | Dr. Jabbar Patel’s Message: Remembering Dr. Ambedkar as the True Guru of Democracy

Pune : Pune News | Dr. Jabbar Patel emphasized the importance of honoring Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, as a true guru. He stated that Dr. Ambedkar taught the country the true essence of democracy, and the constitution he drafted is the real scripture that guides the nation. Dr. Patel shared his thoughts during the 18th Gurujan Gaurav Sohla organized by Chintamani Jnanpeeth and the Appa Renuse Friends Club at the Ganesh Kala Krida Manch in Swargate.

Dr. Patel highlighted the significance of becoming a guru, stating that it is not an easy task. He expressed that he considers it his first honor as a guru, and he has never claimed anyone to be his disciple. In the tradition of Guru Shishya, the disciple is expected to surpass the guru, which holds a profound meaning. During the event, Dr. Patel was felicitated along with former MLA Ulhas Pawar, former vice-chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University Dr. Arun Adsul, and entrepreneur Ramanlal Lunkad.

Various dignitaries, including Appa Renuse, President of District Milk Sangh Bhagwan Pasalkar, Former Mayor Dattatreya Dhankawade, Vishal Tambe, Prakash Kadam, Yuvraj Beldare, Balasaheb Khedekar, Abhay Mandhare, Vijay Jagtap, Balasaheb Dhankawade, and Yuvraj Renuse, were present at the event. They emphasized the importance of preserving the values and good manners passed down by parents. Concerns were raised about the impact of mobile devices on the younger generation, leading to a fear of diminished intelligence. To counteract this, it was suggested that increased face-to-face communication is necessary to foster growth and learning from one another.

Ulhas Pawar stated that if everyone considers themselves disciples and respects each other, the path to Gurusthan (the realm of the guru) will be reached. Dr. Adsul and Lunkad expressed their gratitude and thanked Chintamani Jnanpeeth for the honor bestowed upon them. The event aimed to instill an understanding of the guru-disciple tradition in the next generation, as highlighted by Renuse during the introductory remarks.

Dr. Devidas Shelar, who provides healthcare services to pilgrims walking the Wari route from Alandi to Pandharpur, was honored for his exceptional service. The program was moderated by Milind Kulkarni, and Sachin Dimbele delivered the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the soulful recitation of Pasaydana.
