Vikram Kumar deals a blow to former corporators, says bills will be approved after scrutiny of works

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Municipal Corporation (PMC) | PMC Administrator and Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar has said that works approved at the financial year-end and those carried out in private spaces will be examined and bills will be issued. Corporators rushed to complete works in their wards before the financial year ended. Right from floating a tender, getting it approved and executing it were done speedily by them. It was found in the past that bills were issued for the works, which did not exist at all. Ahead of the civic polls, some corporators even spent civic money to carry out work at private places.

When reporters asked about such works, Administrator Vikram Kumar said civic works are being examined. “Around 25 percent works will be checked by the ward offices. Later, the additional municipal commissioner will examine such works. I will also inspect some works by conducting surprise checks. The works not following the norms will not be paid for,” said Kumar.
