Pune: Minor Girl Received Obscene Messages and Death Threats on Mobile Phone; Complaint At Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station

Pune: Yesterday, a minor girl living on Katraj-Kondhwa Road reported a case of molestation against an unknown individual who allegedly molested her by sending obscene messages to her mobile phone. Furthermore, the accused also threatened to stab her if she did not leave her job immediately.

In this case, Bharati University Police lodged a police complaint against the unknown individual under IPC 354 (d) (2), 507, and the POCSO Act. Bharati Vidyapeeth Police took this action after a minor girl and her 38-year-old mother filed a police complaint on Tuesday, March 12.

As per the police complaint, on February 29, at around 7.45 p.m., a message was received on the minor girl’s phone from an unknown number, in which the sender sent her obscene messages and further abused her, causing her embarrassment.

When the minor girl replied to that text, the accused brazenly asked the girl to leave her job immediately, threatening that otherwise he would stab her with a knife. Initially, the girl neglected the text, considering it a prank. However, on March 11, the girl again received the same type of obscene messages on her phone.

After that, the girl and her mother rushed to the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station and reported the incident. Police Sub-Inspector Koli is conducting further investigation in this case.
