Pune Mahavitaran News | In Pune no shortage of meters for new electricity connections & faulty meter replacement

Pune: Pune Mahavitaran News | Due to sufficient number of new electricity meters availability in Pune circle for new electricity connections and replacement of burnt out and faulty meters there is no shortage of meters for new connections. In the last one and a half months 28,495 new electricity connections and 6,600 replacement of burnt and faulty meters and overall 35,0,95 electricity meters have been given to all 12 department offices.

 

Meanwhile, on Thursday, July 20 in Pune circle 9,816 customers paid the quotation amount for new single phase electricity connection. Compared to the demand 10,449 electricity meters are available with the regional offices for new electricity connections. Also 1200 new meters are available to replace faulty and burnt meters. In addition, 1392 customers have paid the quotation for three phase electricity connection, compared to which 1750 electricity meters are available.

 

Rajendra Pawar, chief engineer, Pune circle said, “Micro planning has been started in Pune circle regarding the availability of new electricity meters since last January. In this, the availability of electricity meters is being reviewed section wise along with new electricity connections twice every week. Accordingly, new electricity meters are being provided to the concerned offices as required. Along with providing new electricity connections after section-wise review, new meters are being made available in sufficient number and immediately in those sections where faulty meters are to be replaced along with new electricity connections.”

 

Pawar further added, “Due to this planning, the process of commissioning of new electricity connections in places where the quotation amount is paid and infrastructure is in place has been speeded up. Therefore, in the last 18 days, as many as 13,687 new power connections have been implemented in the Pune circle. This includes 11,668 household, commercial- 1473, industrial- 223 and agricultural and other 323 electricity connections.”

 

If new meter is not available for new electricity connection as well as for replacement of burnt and faulty meter, consumers should directly contact the Executive Engineer of the concerned department of Mahavitraan. It has also been clarified by Mahavitaran that electricity consumers do not need to purchase meters from the market as sufficient quantity of electricity meters are available.
