Pune News | Killing of Jain Digambar monk Acharya Shri 108 Kamkumara Nandi Maharaj; Jain community holds mute march to seek punishment for assailants

PUNE : Pune News | A mute march had been organised by the Jain Sangh on Thursday to protest against the killing of Jain Digambar monk Acharya Shri 108 Kamkumara Nandi Maharaj. A memorandum demanding stern punishment for the assailants was submitted to the district collector. It was accepted by Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam.

 

Jain Digambar monk Acharya Shri 108 Kamkumara Nandi Maharaj was kidnapped from Hirekodi village near Chikkodi in Belgaum district and brutally killed on July 5. The memorandum contained a demand seeking strict punishment for the assailants and seeking security for Jain munis.

 

The morcha began from Oswal Bandhu Samaj Bhavan and culminated at the collectorate. Thousands of people belonging to Jain community took part in the march. They were wearing black bands on their wrists.

 

 

The memorandum was submitted to the deputy collector in the presence of Milind Fade, Achal Jain, Abhay Chhajed, Ad Sheetal Lohade, Pravin Chorbele, Dr Kalyan Gangwal, Surendra Gandhi, Anil Gelda, Vilas Rathod, Anna Patil, Chandrakant Patil, Abhay Jain, Sumit Jain, Manish Badjate, Nemichand Dhole, Rajkumar Chougule, Uday Lengde, Ashok Jain, Sujata Shaha, Vaijayanti Shaha, Pratima Shaha, Sangeeta Jain, Shaila Bhus, Pushpa Patil, Ashok Pagariya and Ajit Patil.
