Pune: Kondhwa couple duped of Rs 1.5 crore by Mumbai-based realtors Ahuja Property Associates

Pune: A couple residing in Kondhwa has been duped of Rs 1.5 crore by Mumbai-based realtors. A magistrate case has been registered in this regard at the Kondhwa police station.

The Mumbai-based realtors – who have been named as suspects in the FIR – are identified as Gautam Jagdish Ahuja and Jagdish Bhagwandas Ahuja, both residents of Santacruz in Mumbai. They both are directors of the construction company, Ahuja Property Associates.

Haresh Gul Setpal and his wife Mahek, both residents of NIBM Road in Kondhwa, have lodged complaint against the Ahuja father-son duo. According to their complaint, Ahuja’s had promised Setpal of attractive returns if they make an investment in the construction company. Setpal was lured to invest Rs 1.5 crore in Ahuja Property Associates by offering him a 12 per cent interest rate. However, the construction company later did not give any return to Setpal. Therefore, Setpal filed a criminal suit in the court seeking criminal action against the company.

The court recently directed the Kondhwa Police to register case against the Ahuja’s. Accordingly, the suspects have been booked under the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors Act.
