Pune – Jehangir Hospital staff arrested for filming woman patient while changing clothes

Pune : Npnews Network: A ward boy of the famous Jehangir hospital has been arrested by Pune city police for allegedly making video of a woman while changing clothes.

Based on complaint from the woman, an FIR was registered against the accused with Koregaon Park police station on Saturday.

According to police, the woman had come to see doctor after she was having stomach pain. The doctor asked her to get MRI done. The woman changed her clothes and went for MRI. After coming back, she was again wearing her clothes when she noticed a mobile phone with its video recorder on.

She raised an alarm and informed her husband who complained to the hospital administration. It was found out that the phone belonged to a ward boy who was summoned and reprimanded. But not satisfied with the action, the woman called police by dialing 100.

Accordingly, a team from the Koregaon Park police station reached the hospital and took the accused in custody.

“The ward boy is not on the rolls of Jehangir Hospital but is from the housekeeping staff subcontracted from Shree Agencies. We will be taking stern action against the agency concerned, terminating the contract and advising other hospitals as a precaution against such acts by employees. The concerned ward boy violated the standing order of carrying mobile inside the MRI area. The minute the patient in question raised the concern, the ward boy was held by our security staff and then handed over to the police. Jehangir Hospital is a 73 year old legacy hospital and we always put our patients first. We have an absolute 100% no tolerance policy. We have apologised to the patient in concern and will do our best in co-operating with the police in the case.”
