Pune: Horrifying Trail of Crimes! 22-Year-Old Woman Abducted, Forced into Marriage, and Sexually Assaulted in Kharadi

Pune: The 22-year-old girl living in Wagholi was forcibly abducted from the road. Later, she was taken to an unknown place where she was forcibly married to a person and then sexually assaulted by two people. This shocking incident occurred between 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, and 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 16, in the area of the Zensar Chowk bus stop and Dasturwadi village in Kharadi.

In this regard, a victim girl lodged a formal complaint against two people at Chandannagar police station. Accordingly, police booked Mahendra Sitaram Vetal, a resident of Bhavadi village, and Amol Jadhav, a resident of Lonikand area, under IPC 376, 366 A, 506, the Arms Act, and the Atrocity Act. In the subsequent action, police apprehended Mahendra Vetal on Friday night at around 12.

This case has been transferred from Lonikand Police to Chandannagar Police. As per the police complaint, on Thursday morning, the girl was going to the bus stop at Zensar Chowk in Kharadi. At that time, suddenly a four-wheeler white car (MH 12 VF 2648) came from behind and stopped near her. Without the girl making any sense about it, the accused forcibly dragged her inside the car and took her to some unknown destination.

The accused pointed a pistol at her, threatening to kill her if she attempted to escape. After that, the girl was forcibly married to the accused, Mahendra Vetal, and their wedding photos were shared on social media.

The accused then took the victim girl to a mountain in Dasturwadi village limits through Nashik Road and sexually assaulted her. After that, the accused abused her and absconded after leaving the girl at Tulapur Phata. After her release from the accused’s grip, the girl immediately filed a police complaint against them at the Lonikand police station. Assistant Commissioner of Police of Yerawada Division, Sanjay Patil, is conducting further investigation in this regard.
