Pune: Garage helper’s son cracks CA examination

Arjun Lokhande, who works as a helper in an auto electronic garage would have never thought this his son one day would achieve a top-level qualification while living in the slums. Vikas Arjun Lokhande from Siddharthnagar has succeeded in overcoming the situation by passing the Chartered Accountant (CA) exam.

Father Arjun Lokhande works as a helper in an auto electronic garage, while his mother works as a house help. Overcoming such adversity, Vikas Lokhande has fulfilled his father’s dream by succeeding in the difficult CA exam. Vikas is being lauded for his achievement by everyone including the Matang community in Pune.

While celebrating the success, Vikas said that children living in slums face many difficulties in getting an education, but success is achieved only when they work hard and overcome adversity. “I loved math. Having passed the school competition exam in 7th grade, I decided to become a CA and as my father wanted, I prepared from 10th to fulfill my parents’ dream. Continuing to study CA from 12th standard, finally got success in CM in the third phase after B.Com.  This is a source of pride for me”, Vikas said.

Regarding the success of his son, Arjun Lokhande said, “We are living in a slum at Padmavati-Date bus stand in Siddharthnagar. I always wanted my children to grow up getting an education. So, from a young age, I was focused on children’s education. My one son has become CA while the other one is preparing for competitive examinations”.
