Pune: Fatal Beating Over Unpaid Advance Leads to Six Arrests in Ravet: Painting Businessman Succumbs to Injuries

Pune: At Mukai Chowk in Ravet, a heated dispute over an unpaid advance for painting work turned fatal, resulting in the death of 38-year-old Bhuwal, alias Manoj Jagdish Maurya. The Wakad police have arrested six individuals in connection with the case.

The suspects, identified as Shubham Dilip Walhekar (27), Sagar Jagan Jadhav (27), Kunal Suresh Bharam (23), Rajendra Waghmare (25), Akshay Laxman Patil (23), and Dinesh Rameshwar Mhaske (27), allegedly assaulted Maurya after he failed to return a 50,000-rupee advance he had taken from the accused for painting work. The incident unfolded between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

According to the police report, the accused abducted Maurya from their vehicle and subjected him to a brutal beating. Severely injured, Maurya was rushed to the hospital for treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries during the course of medical intervention.

Following the incident, Maurya’s wife lodged a complaint with the Wakad police station, leading to the swift arrest of the six suspects. The charges filed against them include sections 364, 302, 201, and 143, among others.

Police Sub-Inspector Venkat Pote is overseeing the ongoing investigation into the incident.
