Youth killed after being assaulted with sickle on Sinhagad Road in Pune
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A shocking incident of a youth being murdered near Nanded Phata on Sinhagad Road has come to light. About 5 to 6 people killed him after assaulting him with a sickle. The deceased has been identified as Maruti Laxman Dhebe (23), a resident of Warje and hailing from Dhangarvasti Nanded, Haveli taluka. The incident took place on Wednesday at 5.30 pm. According to the police, Maruti was sitting in a shop called Balaji Scrap Centre located on the road going from Nanded Phata to Nanded village. About 5 to 6 people who had tied handkerchiefs on their face, assaulted him with a sickle. Maruti died on the spot. The assailants decamped in a car after the incident. The entire incident has been captured by a CCTV camera. A huge mob had gathered at the spot which had created chaos and confusion. The incident created terror in the area.
On being informed about the incident, API Niranjan Ranavare of Haveli police station, ASI Pradeep Nande, police constables Ramdas Babar, Nilesh Rane and police naik Ashok Gire rushed to the spot. The body has been sent to the Sassoon Hospital for a post-mortem. Previous enmity has led to this incident and the Haveli police have taken two minor boys in their custody.
