Two persons arrested for illegally selling abortion pills in Pune
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | Abortion pills cannot be sold without a doctor’s prescription. Despite this, two persons working in a medical shop have been arrested by the police for illegally selling abortion pills. They have been identified as Avinash Gavhane (23), a resident of Wagholi and Vikas Rokde (34), a resident of Kharadi. The incident took place in Lifestyle Pharma located on Old Mundhwa Road. A complaint has been filed by FDA officer Vivek Khedkar at the Chandan Nagar police station. The FDA had received information that abortion pills were being sold illegally in the shop. A decoy customer was sent to the shop.
A joint raid on the shop was conducted by FDA, PMC and Pune police. Two strips of abortion pills were found in the shop. The two accused said they had purchased them from Kondhwa. Senior PI of Chandan Nagar police station Sunil Jadhav is investigating the case.
