Pune Crime News | Pune Police Crime Branch Arrests Criminal Selling Pistols Near Nilayam Bridge

Pune : Pune Crime News | In a commendable operation carried out by Unit-3 of the Pune City Police’s Crime Branch, a notorious criminal involved in the illegal sale of firearms was apprehended near Nilayam Bridge in Parvati Police Station limits. The swift action by the police led to the seizure of two pistols and seven live cartridges from the offender.

 

The arrested individual has been identified as Santosh Vinayak Natu, a 47-year-old resident of Pimpalgaon in Daund, Pune. The meticulously planned operation, known as the Pune Police Combing Operation, took place from 10 pm on Friday to 2 am on Saturday, covering various areas of the city. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Kshirsagar and Police Dnyaneshwar Chitte, both from Unit-3, received crucial information regarding Natu’s intention to sell pistols near Nilayam Bridge, situated opposite the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Park Office.

 

Acting swiftly, the police verified the intelligence and, under the guidance of their superiors, set up a strategic trap, resulting in the successful arrest of the suspect. During the subsequent search, two pistols and seven live cartridges were found in Natu’s possession. The police promptly seized the weapons and registered a case against him at the Parvati police station.

 

The remarkable achievement of this operation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of several key personnel. Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar (IPS), Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik (IPS), Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale (IPS), Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende (DCP), and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Tambe (ACP) played pivotal roles in the success of the operation.
