Pune Crime News | Minor molested, her mother beaten up; nobody rescues them

Pune : Pune Crime News | A young man molested a 14-year-old girl and beat up her mother, a vegetable vendor, whom she was assisting, at Bhekarai Nagar Chowk. Passersby did not intervene and stopped the accused but merely watched the incident. The young man has been booked for molestation by the Hadapsar Police.

The accused has been identified as Lakya Patil (22), a resident of Bhekarai Nagar. The woman lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar Police Station. The complainant sells vegetables at Bhekarai Nagar Chowk. Her daughter was assisting her after her school was over. The accused approached the victim on the pretext of enquiring rates of vegetables. He dragged her near him by holding her hand.

When the victim’s mother resisted his attempt, he abused and beat her up. The people around merely watched the incident and did not help the victim or her mother. Later, the accused escaped. He is at large. The police are searching for him, said PI Ravindra Shelke.

‘Nobody helped us’

“My daughter was molested and I was beaten up at the busy chowk. Others merely watched the incident happen. Nobody came to our rescue,” said the angry woman.
