Pune Crime News | Elderly woman cheated of Rs 35 lakh on the pretext of teaching graphology

Pune : Pune Crime News | An old woman was duped of Rs 35 lakh by gaining her trust. She was told that they had studied her handwriting, which had revealed that their company could make a business of Rs 100 crore after she had partnered with them.

 

A Mumbai-based 61-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the Wanawadi police station. The police booked Manish Gangadatt Pandey (43), a resident of Wanawadi. The incident took place from May 11, 2023 till date.

 

According to the police, the complainant saw a video clip ‘The Man Who See The Future’ posted by Manish Pandey on social media. Pandey introduced himself to be an expert handwriting analyst and had a doctorate. The complainant wanted to learn graphology from him. Then Pandey asked her to send her handwriting and pay Rs 20,000 for his appointment. She paid him the money online.

 

Later, Pandey gained the complainant’s confidence by saying that he had studied her handwriting. Then he told her that their company could make Rs 100 crore business if she partnered with him. Then he withdrew Rs 35 lakh using her debit card on the pretext of establishing the company. When she enquired about the money, he tried to placate her.

 

The accused took advantage of the complainant’s age and helplessness. PSI Santosh Sonawane is investigating.
