Pune Crime News: 30-year-old man from Katraj lost Rs 7.50 lakh over completing tasks on Telegram

Pune: NpNews24 Online  -Pune Crime News | A 30-year-old man was cheated of Rs 7.50 lakh on the pretext of providing him a job with good earning potential. It has come to light that the victim was cheated by giving different tasks on Telegram. This incident took place online in August 2023 at the victim’s house in Katraj. (Pune Crime News )

Abhijit Mahadev Navghane (30) a resident of Katraj filed a complaint in Pune Cyber Police Station. The Cyber Police has transfered this case in Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station. Accordingly case has been registered on mobile holder number 94743XXXXX and Telegram Holder and Radhika and Navneet Kamat of customer services have been booked under IPC sections 419, 420, 34 along with IT Act.

According to the police, “The cyber criminal contacted the complainant Navghane and won his trust. He was lured of more money by giving him job. He was included in the Telegram group by giving a link. After that he was given different tasks on Telegram with the lure of higher earnings. Accordingly, Navghane completed the task. Then the cyber criminals gave different reasons to the complainant and asked to deposit Rs 7,46,382 in various bank accounts. Accordingly, plaintiff Abhijit Navghane deposited the money online. However, after that the cyber thieves committed financial fraud without giving any task and without returning the money. As soon as he realized the fraud, Navghane filed a complaint at the Pune Cyber Police Station.”

The further investigation in the case is being conducted by police inspector (crime) Vijay Puranik.
