Pune Crime | Husband, retired father-in-law held after woman jumps off the terrace in Hadapsar
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A woman ended her life by jumping off the terrace of her residence following mental and physical harassment by husband and in-laws. The Wanawadi police have arrested her husband and father-in-law, a retired teacher in this regard.
The arrested have been identified as Tarun Kanade (30) and Madan Kanade. Mother-in-law Sapana Kanade, Arun Kanade, all residents of Handewadi road, Hadapsar, have been booked. The victim has been identified as Divya Kanade (24).
Shyamraom Ananda Bansode, a resident of Dhanegaon, Aurangabad, lodged a complaint with the police. The incident took place on April 25, 2022.
According to the police, Divya got married with Tarun on January 21, 2021. He has done MBA and is working as a manager in a reputed education institute in the city. His father was a lecturer in a college in Aurangabad. They started torturing Divya after Diwali last year. Money and gold was being demanded from her. When her father enquired about this they told him that they did not demand it. However, they did not stop ill-treating her. Fed up with this, she jumped off from the 11th floor of the building on Monday morning.
