Pune Crime | Accused in POCSO case escapes after scuffle with cops in Pune
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | The police had arrested an accused in a minor’s rape case after serving him a NBW and were taking him to the police station. However, the youth managed to escape after he had a scuffle with the policemen and the vehicle fell on the road. (Pune Crime)
The accused has been identified as Ganesh Balu Bharekar (23), a resident of Jai Bhavaninagar, Paud Road and an FIR has been filed against his mother for helping him to escape.
Police constable Shivaji Maruti Parge has lodged a complaint at the Kothrud police station. The incident happened on the main road of a lane in Jai Bhavaninagar on Thursday from 12 noon to 1 pm.
According to the police, a case under POCSO had been filed against Ganesh Bharekar for raping a minor girl. The District Judge, JS Raje, had issued a NBW against Ganesh Bharekar in this case.
Police constable Shivaji Parge and police naik Bandal had gone to serve the NBW. They had apprehended the accused and were taking him on a two-wheeler. Ganesh Bharekar had a scuffle with constable Parge and Parge fell on the road along with the two-wheeler. When Parge started running, Parge arrested him after chasing him. Bharekar’s mother came running and she had a scuffle with Parge and abused him and threatened to file a complaint with the police commissioner. She helped her son to escape.
Hence, the police have filed an FIR against Bharekar’s mother for obstructing government work and preventing her son from being arrested.
